Watch Yourselves

Luke 21:34-36  But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day may come upon you suddenly like a trap.  For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth.  But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.  In my teen years, it was widely preached Jesus would return soon.  We were told the time clock started in 1948 when Israel became a nation again after the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD by the Romans.  We are still waiting.  But if Jesus comes for us at the end of the world or if He comes for us at the end of our lives, the command is no different. The message of Living for Christ is one of joy. The kingdom of God is now.  Stay awake and Live For Jesus.
